“Gene,”
as he is fondly known, is a Civil Engineering Graduate
with considerable masteral units in Public
Administration.
He was a
college instructor at the University of the Visayas in
Cebu City before trying his luck in politics. And as
destiny would have it, he made it as the no. 3
municipal councilor of Glan, Sarangani in the 1992
elections in spite of the fact that he ran as
independent.
Surely, talent
manifests. On his second term as municipal councilor,
he was elected as Philippine Councilor League (PCL)
Sarangani Chapter Federation President, thus, he first
savored how it was to be in the halls of the
Sangguniang Panlalawigan serving as Ex-Officio Member.
His being a
Board Member was only interrupted when in 1999, he was
appointed Executive Assistant lll by then Sarangani
Governor, Priscilla L. Chiongbian.
Constituents of
the second district must have trusted this young man
so much that they made it sure that he be elected as
one of the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in
the last elections.
Two of his most
cherished dreams this time is “to enhance the
development of the youth sector of the province to
make them more productive segments of the society”
and “undertake projects geared towards our
development of the countryside to make our people in
the distant barangays more productive in agriculture
and industry.”
